Come and join us in Southport (see producer about cool venue words). Within this space, two shows adorn the nights of Thursday 19th, Friday 20th and Saturday the 21st.

First cab off the rank, Glittery Clittery, is a part explosive comedy cabaret, part interactive club night, unapologetically hilarious show, bursting with original music, anarchic audience games, sequinned glamour and ridiculously epic dance moves.

Glittery Clittery 6 pm – 7 pm 19, 20 & 21 August (Ticketed)

The second performance leads with the mesmeric frequencies of three powerful voices, Tower Divas, as they call out across space and time. Four women weave a sonic bridge between cultures, the natural world and the intrinsic elements of life. This highly original and moving performance is part ritual, part sound healing and all heart.

Tower Divas 7:30 pm 19, 20 & 21 August (Ticketed)

Included in the ticket for this second performance are:

– Justene Williams presenting subtropical goth and hypercolour performance art, part ritual, part sound healing and all heart in She Predicted the Colour of the Season; and,

Double Backed Beast, a ride that combines the latest in adrenaline mechanics with deep massage and intimacy technologies .

But that is not all…Look around and be spellbound by Big City Lights – hypnotic projections and technicolour magic, as buildings facades morph, pulse and shine in an immersive visual spectacle of light and audio-visual; All these scars are mine, where award-winning artist Vernon Ah Kee reinterprets his signature text-based works as a vast typographic installation, wrapping the walls of a building; and the hyper-visual tableau vivant of Family Portrait challenges the conventional concepts of family. Look down and wonder as the video work of Alchemic Erosion explores the role of human intervention in constructing the form of the Gold Coast waterways embedded into the ground.

Lastly, but not at all in the least, hidden away from the performances and visual installations, is a unique theatrette with the two continuously screening short films – A Perpetual State of What the F#@k!!??, a work of sweeping imagery that asks all of us to remember what keeps us together when it all falls apart as shown through the eyes of a child, and Follow the Bias, a new multi-channel video work from Gold Coast-based Gogi Dance Collective, exploring the hypnotic rhythms and patterns inspired by the everyday choreography of lawn bowls.

These visual installations and films are part of the both Glittery Clittery and the Southport Hub event tickets.

Glittery Clittery’s performance on Friday 20th August is Auslan Interpreted.
