The Australia Fair building is illuminated on one side by a projection of an artwork depicting a young, fair-skinned woman with luminous yellow hair piled on top of her head. She is wearing an old-fashioned, blue-green dress and fluorescent yellow gloves. Immediately around her is a haze of bright colours, then behind is what appears to be an arid Australian landscape. The night sky behind the building is dark.

BIG CITY LIGHTS*

Welcome to the 2024 BIG CITY LIGHTS* Festival.

With over 100 artists in more than 40 different locations across Southport CBD, the 2024 BIG CITY LIGHTS* is back for a second year bigger and brighter.

There are large-scale projections that re-interpret building facades, surround sound audio works that envelope the CBD in sonic waves, and interactive installations, films from across the country and so much more!

We invite you to choose your own adventure – wander the streets, ponder the artworks, interact with the installations and lose yourself in the film or live music program.

Complete your night out by visiting one of our favourite bars and restaurants and share your BIG CITY LIGHTS* experience with us socials!

The 2024 BIG CITY LIGHTS* festival is fun, free and the perfect winter escape. Come once and come again with family and friends 💜🖤

BIG CITY LIGHTS* is presented by Experience Gold Coast (EGC).

Operative from September 2023, Experience Gold Coast promotes, advocates, and collaborates with industry, government and the community to strengthen the Gold Coast’s position as Australia’s premier tourism destination, the home of major events, a preferred place to study and a city that values and celebrates arts and cultural experiences.

BIG CITY LIGHTS* is supported by the City of Gold Coast as a foundation partner and the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland, part of the Department of Communities, Housing, and Digital Economy.
