PRIMITIVE MOTION
Exploring the liminal space between improvisation and song, a live performance from Meanjin musical duo Sandra Selig and Leighton Craig, AKA Primitive Motion, is like attending a concert in outer space. Bringing their evocative blend of folk, krautrock, lo-fi pop and foggy electronics to BIG CITY LIGHTS*, ride their melodic waves that merge silky smooth vocals with nature soundscapes, drum machines, guitar and keyboard.
Primitive Motion is the collaborative project of Brisbane artists Sandra Selig and Leighton Craig. Since 2010 they have existed as a treasured beacon in the outer territories of the Australian underground, releasing seven albums of their dream-float musical dialogue, exhibiting visual/audio collaborations and performing in a diverse range of settings. Inhabiting the liminal space between improvisation and song, they have gently unlocked a uniquely divergent soundworld that haunts the fringes of folk, krautrock, lo-fi pop and foggy electronics.
